Manchester Laces and the AF League

Since their formation in 2021 I have been invited to document the rising success of Manchester Laces, from their very first session to their celebration awards ceremony. Manchester Laces were the first inclusive football club in Manchester and play an important role in accessibility for all women, non-binary and transgender people in grassroots football. Since their formation, they have welcomed 550+ players and are proactively breaking barriers to provide a safe and accessible atmosphere for people interested in playing football, no matter their ability. Manchester Laces won the National Grassroots Club of the Year award in 2022.

The AF League (Alternative Football League) allows women, non-binary and transgender players to participate in a competitive but friendly, casual football league.
